Copper Tungsten Electrical Contacts are manufactured by the powder metallurgy with techniques of pressing, sintering and infiltrating the sintered material with copper.  The tunsten material offer the structural strength and heat resistance while the copper is an electrical and heat conductor, under this combination, the copper tunsgen is fabricated in the excellent properties of dense, hard, superior wear resistance and strength at high temperatures, beisdes they also possess good thermal and electrical conductivity.

Characteristics And Features

Our Tungsten Copper Resistance Welding Electrodes refractory alloys are resistant to heat, electric arc, wear and deformation at high temperature welding, flash butt and spot welding and also have excellent electrical and thermal conductivity which will withstand the effects of the arcing to the interruption of large currents as heavy duty contacts, relays, swithches, Electrical Discharge Machining EDM and Electrochemical Machining ECM and other most severe applications.

Superior Performance And Applications

For Copper Tungsten Electrical Contacts of composition of 75%W25%Cu, they can be applied in projection welding electrodes, flash and butt welding electrodes, light upsetting and seam welding bushings.  It is harder than Class 10 and used where moderate pressure is required.  This material can also be used for spot welding low conductivity steels, such as stainless, and the availability are Rod, Bar and Inserts.
