Tungsten alloy shielding is mainly used in the medical industry and container scanning: The tungsten alloy shielding material is a high density tungsten alloy material, which is mainly composed of over 90% tungsten powder mixed with nickel and iron, or nickel and copper powder.

High density tungsten alloy has high radiation shielding properties: due to the high shielding ability of tungsten alloy materials in medical tungsten alloy shielding parts against various rays, it can prevent 150keV radiation γ Ray attenuation of 90% only requires a thickness of 3mm, which is very suitable for situations that require high spatial resolution, such as medical collimators, multi page gratings, etc. Tungsten alloy materials have a high density (60% higher than lead), which reduces the size of radiation shielding components without affecting the radiation shielding effect. Compared to lead, tungsten alloys with the same radiation shielding performance have a volume of less than one-third of lead.

High density tungsten is environmentally friendly: the use of lead as a radiation therapy shield poses significant risks, while uranium material as a shielding element for gamma rays itself has strong radioactivity. Due to the environmental characteristics of medical tungsten alloy shielding materials, medical equipment made from tungsten alloy materials is not hazardous.

High density tungsten alloy shielding material: (90-97)%W+Ni+Fe, or (90-97)% W+Ni+Cu alloy, density from 16.85-17.85g/cm3, hardness max 34HRC. We produce tungsten alloy shielding as per ASTM B 777, or ASTM B7725, or AMS-T-21014 standard.
